Bonnie Shariff is the founder and president of Organisation pour le Développement Intellectuel de Madagascar, a Malagasy nonprofit human rights organization composed of young people and women dedicated to research-focused advocacy against all forms of discrimination. Bonnie contributes to Madagascar’s sustainable development by implementing programs related to rights, entrepreneurship, and information dissemination. A lawyer by training and a human rights advocate, Bonnie has championed the rights of youth and women through multi-level advocacy at the local, national, and international levels playing a role in driving efforts toward the adoption of legislation to protect human rights defenders and whistleblowers in Madagascar. Furthermore, she has conducted training for 26 human rights defenders as part of an initiative to promote human rights within the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
