Aimee Akinyi Ongeso is the Africa Manager for Transformative Peace at the Open Society Foundations, a global philanthropy dedicated to building vibrant and inclusive democracies where governments are accountable to their citizens. Akinyi focuses on reparative economies and supporting conflict-prone communities in democratizing their economies in Africa. She works with these communities to take control of and benefit from their resources, ensuring they have input in how these resources are utilized. She works with them to exercise agency, create collective wealth and prosperity, and build resilience, offering a co-created transformative framework for sustainable peace.
