Team up with organizations for girls

The Global Girls Alliance is thrilled to collaborate with nonprofit organizations that have made significant commitments to supporting adolescent girls’ education around the world. Here are some ways they are taking action.

Girl Scouts of the USA

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is the largest organization for girls in the world with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts provides a 21st century experience for girls designed to help them learn to be leaders in today’s world.

As part of the organization’s Global Leadership programming, Girl Scouts will launch a national Girls’ Access to Education Civic Engagement Toolkit for girls, ages kindergarten through 12th grade. This toolkit will provide girls with opportunities to learn about and examine the issue of girls’ education from both global and national perspectives, including with regard to access, quality, and achievement.

Girls Inc.

Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. The organization’s research-based programming, delivered by 81 local affiliates in the United States and Canada, gives girls the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to be healthy, educated, and independent.

In collaboration with the Global Girls Alliance, Girls Inc. will integrate global citizenship into the Girls Inc. Leadership and Community Action program, encouraging girls to understand their ability to represent the voices of girls around the world who are denied access to an education.

She’s the First

She’s the First is a nonprofit organization that fights gender inequality through education. She’s the First supports girls who will be first-generation high school graduates and trains students everywhere to be global leaders.

To deepen their commitment to adolescent girls, She’s the First will utilize Global Girls Alliance “take action” tools to train high school and college students to be informed advocates and new leaders for global girls’ education. In addition, She’s the First will strengthen the capacity of organizations serving girls by creating the “Girls First Network,” a knowledge-sharing community for girl-focused NGOs.
