Obama Foundation Event Policies

Thank you for engaging with The Barack Obama Foundation (the “Foundation”)! Our mission is to inspire, empower, and connect people to change their world.

Conduct Expectations for Event Attendees

In order to attend and participate in a Foundation program, function, convening, or event (an “Event”), you must abide by our Event code of conduct.

  • Please conduct yourself in a professional and civil manner, befitting the goals of the Event, and reflecting awareness of the impact words and actions may have on others.

  • Use your best judgment to maintain appropriate, safe physical and nonphysical boundaries.

  • Conduct yourself in an inclusive manner with regard to race, color, sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ethnicity or national origin, citizenship status, disability, medical condition, or other personal attributes.

  • The Foundation does not tolerate harassment — which includes any unwelcome conduct that could interfere with a person’s ability to fully engage in the Event, or unwelcome conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

  • The Foundation expects each attendee to help us maintain a drug-free environment throughout the Event. If any attendee is found to have abused an illegal drug or substance, they may be asked to leave immediately.

  • If you experience or witness conduct that you believe falls short of these expectations, please inform an Event staff member immediately. Appropriate action will be taken to address any prohibited conduct, which may include being asked to leave the Event.
