At the end of the Obama Foundation Summit, President Obama closed out the event by holding up a commitment card and asking attendees to answer this simple question:

What action are you going to take to make concrete, local change in the next few months?

The simple act of writing something down and saying you’re going to do it makes you more likely to take action and make it happen. The change you commit to making doesn’t have to be huge — in fact, it shouldn’t be. It should be something you can do in the next few months, something that will make a positive change where you live — something you can lean on your friends and neighbors to help out with.

Fill out a commitment card of your own right now and tell us what change you’re going to make in your community, then see what people from around the world are committing to change in their communities.
