Abdirahman Muse is the executive director of Awood Center in Minneapolis, an organization where workers from the East African community can learn about their labor rights. Recently, the Awood Center passed the most protective warehouse workers bill nationwide. Abdirahman previously served as a Metropolitan Regional Council Member for District 8. In that role, he successfully allocated significant economic development resources to the District, pushed for increased workforce diversity at all levels, and implemented an inclusive and equitable procurement process. Abdirahman also served Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges as a policy aide and liaison to the Somali community for employment and housing.
